HOW TO PLAY
Light three beacons. Get the convoy home.
Your controls
| Action | Pocket Taco | Keyboard |
|---|---|---|
| Move | D-pad | Arrows / WASD |
| Forward boost | D-pad up (hold) | Up / W (hold) |
| Primary fire | A (hold) | Space / J |
| Select heavy weapon | B | Q / K |
| Fire heavy weapon | R1 (hold) | E / L |
| Pause / resume | Start | P / Esc |
Touch: slide on the D-pad, hold A or R1, and tap B. Touch controls appear when no controller is connected. Press A to launch, retry, or continue after a mission.
Hold up to engage your thrusters and surge forward. Release up to return to cruising speed. Diagonal forward movement boosts too; sideways and backward movement stay quick and precise.
Fly with intent
The bright ring at the center of your ship is your vulnerable core. Enemy shots can pass over your wings safely. Dodge into the gaps instead of sweeping across the whole screen.
Amber flashes mean an attack is charging. A sniper's thin aim line locks onto where you were: move aside before the shot. After a hit, your core pulses during a short moment of protection.
At zero hull, the run ends. Pause whenever you need a break; switching apps or losing your controller pauses automatically.
Pick the right weapon
Fast twin shots with no ammunition limit. Keep firing while you move.
A powerful tracking shot with a small blast. Best for carriers and bosses. Recharges in 2.8 seconds.
Five heavy bolts cover a wide formation. Recharges in 2.2 seconds.
Heavy weapons share one recharge. The meter lights up and a chime sounds when another shot is ready. Switching weapons never skips the recharge.
Find something stronger
Fly through glowing weapon capsules in space. Each gives three shots and equips that weapon immediately. Keep firing A while you close the distance, then use R1 to unleash it.
A tracking warhead with a wide, powerful blast. Great for clustered ships. Recharges in 3.8 seconds.
A fast lance that pierces multiple ships in a straight line. Deals heavy damage to bosses. Recharges in 3.2 seconds.
B cycles your available weapons. The number beside NOVA or RAIL shows shots remaining; another matching capsule adds three, up to six. Your last shot returns you to Ion torpedoes. Special ammunition lasts for the current flight and resets at launch.
Know the blockade
- ScoutsPurple wings. Fast passes and single aimed shots.
- SnipersLong orange hulls. A locked aim line, then a fast shot.
- Fan shipsWide pink wings. Slow volleys with gaps to thread.
- CarriersGreen armor. Tough hulls that release scouts.
- GuardiansThree phases. Watch for pattern changes as their hull falls.
Make the run your own
Each mission has 12 formations and a guardian. Clear it to unlock the next beacon. A clean formation—no hull damage and no escaping ships—raises your score multiplier, up to ×5. Taking damage lowers it.
Green rescue pods restore 18 hull and award 250 points. Collect two during a mission for a rescue medal.
Earn three medals: finish the mission, finish with at least 60% hull, and rescue two pilots. Replay unlocked missions to improve your medals and personal best. Your progress stays on this browser and device.
Endless patrol is available from the menu. Guardians return with tougher hulls; defeating one repairs 25 hull before the next sector.
Get comfortable
Pair Pocket Taco in your phone's Bluetooth settings, then press a button. Open Settings on the main menu to calibrate A, B, R1 and the D-pad if your controller uses a different mapping.
Keep “Pocket Taco” on while it's attached. Settings lets you adjust the clearance and which side the controller occupies. Turn it off when playing with touch alone.
Rotate for an edge-to-edge landscape layout. If Safari keeps its bars visible, use Share → Add to Home Screen and launch from there for the full-screen view.
An upbeat arcade soundtrack starts when you launch and pauses with your flight. Settings → Arcade music turns off just the music; Game sound or the speaker button mutes everything. Your audio choices stay on this browser and device.
On iPhone, tap Launch on the screen for your first flight to enable audio, then use the controller. If “Enable sound” appears, tap it once. Settings → Test sound plays a short chime. Sound uses your phone's media volume; on older iOS versions, you may also need to turn off Silent Mode.
